Hello SoMMians!
We all love music, and Valentine’s Day is THE day to celebrate love. Although the holiday may mean different things to different people, it’s a great time to eat too much chocolate and bust out your favourite rom-coms or music albums about love. It’s also the perfect opportunity to serenade the people that matter to you, although the circumstances this year made this pretty difficult.
This Valentine’s Day, SoMM decided to create virtual musical grams made by our very own volunteers. They arranged music in duets, played together (over Zoom), and made videos that were sent to the friends and loved ones of people who registered. The lovey songs ranged from Bruno Mars to Taylor Swift to Rent (the musical) and were distributed to over forty recipients in several different countries! The grams were super fun for volunteers and recipients alike and were a great way to stay connected from a distance with a personal touch. We are also very grateful for everyone who signed up – thank you for allowing us to keep the joy of music accessible to all!
